Matthew Smith has over 15 years’ experience in the resource industry across a broad range of commodities including precious metals, industrials and bulk commodities. He has worked for a range of companies operating in the Asia Pacific region and prior to his current position with Geopacific Resources was the Chief Financial Officer at ASX listed Kingrose Mining Limited.  Matt also held the role of Company Secretary at Straits Resources Limited.

Adam McEvoy has over 30 years’ experience working in commercial roles across several industries, including heavy equipment, manufacturing, oil and gas and precious metals.  Adam has worked for a range of companies in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia Pacific, including Woodside, Bechtel and Westrac.

Adam is responsible for commercial strategy, contracting, procurement and project controls.

Adam holds an MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Gerry Bradley has over 25 years’ experience working as an environmental scientist focussing on environmental, community and sustainability management in the mining sector across Australia, Asia and Africa.  Gerry has a deep understanding of the tactical and strategic environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges facing extractive projects from early development through operations and closure.  He has had exposure to a range of risk factors impacting critical infrastructure including tailings and waste rock storage facilities under diverse climatic conditions.

Gerry’s most recent project work has included remote gold mining sites in monsoonal Laos and Cambodia in SE Asia.

Basil Bulkua is an experienced community, environment and project management professional with more than 25 years’ of leadership experience across the mining and resources sectors in Papua New Guinea and Australia.  Basil has held senior management roles with leading mining companies, including Woodlark Mining, Simberi Gold, Morobe Mining, Energy Resources Australia and Lihir Gold.

Basil leads community and environmental programs, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance and the delivery of major relocation and community development initiatives at Woodlark.  Throughout his career, he has successfully managed complex environmental compliance programs, large-scale community projects and multidisciplinary teams, while building strong relationships with communities, government agencies and industry stakeholders.

Basil holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of PNG and is recognised for his practical leadership, strong stakeholder management skills and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes for both communities and business.

Basil is a director of Geopacific’s wholly owned Woodlark Mining Limited.

Dean Stuart is an experienced Project Director with over 35 years’ of experience leading cross-functional teams, managing large-scale mining projects, and delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget in Australia and Southeast Asia.

Dean has spent more than 14 years working in Indonesia and Malaysia with Aurora Gold Limited including Mt Muro and the Toka Tindung projects.  Dean also worked on the North Lanut Project in Indonesia, the Penjom Gold Project in Malaysia and the Wetar Island Copper Project in Maluku Indonesia.

Dean has most recently worked with MacMahon Contractors as Project Director at the Tropicana Gold Mine and the Nifty Copper Project, including statutory positions as Site Senior Executive.  Dean is a Technical/Registered Mine Manager with the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources in Indonesia and a Registered Mine Manager with the Department of Minerals and Geoscieince in Malaysia.

Tim Hatley is an experienced Exploration Geologist with over 10 years’ experience across mineral exploration and mining operations in Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand, with a broad multi-commodity background.

Tim provides senior technical and operational leadership across exploration programs. His role also encompasses exploration strategy, program delivery, geological interpretation, resource growth and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Tims’ career includes senior geological and technical services roles with Pacgold, Metro Mining, South32 and Evolution Mining, providing a range of experience across exploration, resource evaluation and mining operations.  Tim has previously served in the New Zealand Army.

Prior to joining Geopacific, Tim was Strategic Geologist with K92 Mining in Papua New Guinea.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology from Victoria University of Wellington
